Rugby Rivalry Unleashed in West Schools Battle

The West Secondary Schools Deans Rugby quarter-finals will commence at Prince Charles Park this Saturday.

The top two schools from four zones—Ba/Tavua/Ra, Lautoka, Nadi, and Sigatoka—will converge in Nadi to compete for the Western champion title.

West Secondary Schools Deans Rugby secretary Kinijoji Rakata confirmed that 27 matches will be played across four grounds: Prince Charles Park grounds one, two, and three, and Ratu Navula School ground.

“We are expecting large crowds since there will be 27 matches altogether played over four grounds,” Rakata said. “We are inviting all fans, parents, and supporters to come out in numbers on Saturday and support their schools.”

Rakata also announced that the U14, U16, U17, U19, and Raluve categories will have their quarterfinals, while the U18 category will have their playoff this week.

In the U18 playoff, Natabua has secured the top spot in Pool A, while Ba Pro and Ra High School will compete for the second place. In Pool B, the round-robin matches have concluded, and Cuvu College will play Ratu Navula for first and second place. The top two teams from the U18 grade will advance to the semi-finals next week.

In the U14 grade from the Ba/Tavua/Ra zone, Ra High and Nakauvadra have booked their spots. Ba Methodist and AD Patel have qualified for the U15 grade. For the Raluve U16 grade, Ba Methodist and Ra High have secured their places. In the U16 boys category, Ba Methodist and Ra High have also qualified.

Xavier College and AD Patel College have advanced from the U17 grade. In the Raluve U18 category, Ra High and AD Patel have booked their spots, while Ba Methodist and Nasau Secondary have qualified from the U19 grade.
