Sera Bolatini’s journey into rugby sevens has added another remarkable chapter to her impressive sporting career. The athlete, who hails from Ovalau, has joined the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s training squad as they prepare for upcoming competitions. The team gathered at Bidesi Park in Laucala Bay, Suva for their training session yesterday.
In addition to her rugby pursuits, which include a stint with various clubs and the Fijian Drua Women, Bolatini has also explored boxing, showcasing her versatility as an athlete. Her ambition to compete in rugby 7s has now become a reality with her selection for the Fijiana 7s training squad.
Bolatini shared that her love for rugby blossomed from an early age, influenced by friends who played the game. She began playing rugby during her time at Assemblies of God High School in 2019 and later joined the Namosi team in 2020. Her rugby journey has since propelled her to the Marist Women’s rugby club and eventually to the Fijian Drua in 2023, leading to her current involvement with the Fijiana 7s side.
With her sights set on securing a position in the final team for the upcoming World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series, Bolatini remains dedicated to hard work and a positive mindset as her guiding principles in achieving her goals.
