Rugby Fun Unites Nadroga’s Youth at Milo Tag Clinic

The Rugby Academy of Fiji, under the leadership of Seremaia Bai, organized a Milo Tag Rugby Clinic at the Nasikawa Vision College grounds yesterday. The event attracted hundreds of children from nearby villages for a day filled with learning, enjoyment, and community engagement.

Bai, a former star player for the Flying Fijians, noted that the Milo Tag Rugby Clinic is part of the Academy’s “give-back” initiative that started in 2017. He stated, “This program allows us to visit villages that may not have access to such opportunities.”

He explained the goals of the clinic, emphasizing the importance of fun and participation while teaching rugby skills. “We aim to unite the community and impart the values of rugby that children can apply in their everyday lives,” Bai added.

The event was vibrant, with expectations of attracting around 300 to 400 children. Bai expressed gratitude for the consistent support from Milo, stating, “In events like this, we target 300-400 kids, and Milo has always been there for us.”

Each participating team received a rugby ball and a package sponsored by Milo, giving them both a keepsake and something to engage with after the clinic. This was the Rugby Academy of Fiji’s second outing in Nadroga, with their inaugural event held at Lawaqa Park. Bai noted the strong interest from the community, which influenced their decision to return.

“This is the second time we have come to Nadroga; our first event was at Lawaqa Park, and we saw a significant level of interest in this area, leading us to come back,” he concluded.
