The Serevi Academy of Rugby is thrilled to announce its inaugural rugby camp in Fiji for 2025, taking place at Lawaqa Park. This event reflects the academy’s commitment to empowering young individuals through the sport of rugby.
Waisale Serevi, a renowned figure in the world of rugby, shared the details of the camp on his social media platform. The program will host two sessions aimed at enhancing rugby skills, discipline, and teamwork among Fiji’s youth. The first session, scheduled from 9 AM to 11 AM, is designed for girls aged U16 to U18, while the second session, from 1 PM to 4 PM, is focused on boys in the same age group.
An exciting aspect of the camp is that it is free to attend, offering a unique opportunity for local youth to learn from experienced coaches and develop their talents in rugby. Serevi expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the privilege of running the camp in his homeland, emphasizing his desire to positively impact young athletes. “I’m so grateful to God for the chance to run my first-ever Serevi Academy of Rugby camp in Fiji. It’s a true honor to give back to the youth here and to help them grow both as athletes and individuals,” he noted.
The camp also includes an important focus on resilience and drug prevention, encapsulated in the theme “Phil4:13 STAY STRONG – SAY NO TO DRUGS.” This initiative aims to nurture not only rugby skills but also valuable life lessons, motivating participants to pursue their goals with determination and resilience.
Special thanks were extended to the Fiji Sports Council for providing the necessary facilities and to Aqua Pacific, a partner in this endeavor. For parents or guardians interested in enrolling their children in the camp, they can reach out to Aseri Tuitubou at 9034496 or Jo Rokomarawa at 9418391 for more information.
This initiative is significant, as it not only fosters sportsmanship but also contributes to the holistic development of youth in Fiji, inspiring them to create a promising future both on and off the field. The focus on community engagement through sports is an encouraging sign for the youth, indicating a brighter road ahead for aspiring athletes in the region.
