Ratu Navula College is determined to claim victory in the Vodafone Deans Trophy, as conveyed by the team manager for the Under-18 squad, Mitieli Qumi, following their quarterfinal win of 16-10 against Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School.
Qumi expressed the team’s ambition to restore the dominance of Western teams in national finals during an interview. He acknowledged that Mahatma Gandhi Memorial was considered the favorite this year, noting their strong reputation prior to the match.
In the closing moments of the quarterfinal, RNC displayed an impressive defensive performance that thwarted MGM’s attempts to rally. The manager indicated that while they successfully reached the semifinal, there remains room for improvement.
“There were mistakes but we will regroup and come back a better team,” he stated, as RNC prepares to face off against defending champions Queen Victoria School in the semifinal.
“We are here for business and we are here to play. Our biggest strength is the spiritual support from our families and the school,” Qumi added.
