Rising Star: Miss Fiji Universe Contestant Aims for Confidence and Change

Prashantika Prasad, a 22-year-old aspiring model, is eager to enhance her confidence as she competes for the Miss Fiji Universe 2024 title in Mexico later this year. Currently a fourth-year MBBS student at the University of Fiji’s Saweni Campus in Lautoka, Prasad sees this pageant as a unique opportunity to grow.

“I entered this pageant to embrace an opportunity that doesn’t often arise in hopes of becoming more confident,” she stated. Her primary message revolves around fostering self-confidence and encouraging others to take advantage of available opportunities.

“While spontaneous situations can be daunting, they contribute significantly to personal growth,” she added. Prasad aims to raise awareness and provide support for fostering a resilient, youth-empowered society through education and assistance for individuals facing mental health challenges and substance addiction.

Her long-term goal is to complete her education and serve as a healthcare provider. “I have developed immense respect for girls who step up on such significant platforms and give their all. The experience has taught me the value of female solidarity,” Prasad noted.

Formerly the deputy head girl at Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College in Nadi, Prasad also showcased her musical talent by singing the lead in her school’s official music video, My School. A talented singer like her father, Shalendra Shambu Prasad, she is actively involved in the University of Fiji’s musical band, enjoys playing tennis, and participates in community service during medical camps.
