Rising Star: Meet the Head Boy Making Waves at Saint Thomas High School

Lasaro Driubalavu, the head boy at Saint Thomas High School, has distinguished himself both academically and as a leader. He was recently honored with the prestigious baton of honor during the school’s cadet passing-out parade held on July 26.

Incorporating cadet training into education helps to promote student development and discipline, focusing not just on academics but also on fostering teamwork, leadership, and a sense of responsibility among students.

At 18 years old and hailing from Nuku Village in Serua, Lasaro also has family ties to Wainiyabia in Serua. Reflecting on his experience, he shared, “Since it was my first experience, I was nervous, but I had faith in God, and I overcame the challenge.”

As the eldest of four siblings, Lasaro aims to pursue a career as an electrician by enrolling at Fiji National University (FNU).
