Lasaro Driubalavu, the head boy of Saint Thomas High School, has demonstrated outstanding academic performance and leadership capabilities. During the school’s recent cadet passing-out parade held on July 26, he was honored with the prestigious baton of honour.
Cadet training is integrated into the curriculum at certain schools to enhance students’ development and discipline. In addition to academic achievements, the cadet program emphasizes the importance of teamwork, leadership, and responsibility among students.
The 18-year-old, hailing from Nuku Village in Serua, has family connections to Wainiyabia in the same region. Reflecting on his experiences, Lasaro shared, “Since it was my first experience, I was nervous but I had faith in God; I overcame the challenge.”
As the eldest of four siblings, he aspires to pursue a career as an electrician by enrolling at the Fiji National University (FNU).
