Viola Ravutubananitu, a dedicated eighth-grade student at Tagitagi Sangam Primary School in Tavua, has achieved remarkable success in the Fiji Eighth Year Examination, scoring an impressive 491 out of a possible 500 marks. The 13-year-old attributed her remarkable performance to the unwavering support of her family and her deep faith in God.
Hailing from Totoya, Lau, and with familial connections to Tavualevu in Tavua, Viola expressed immense gratitude for the encouragement she received from her loved ones. “First and foremost, I thank the Almighty,” she stated. Viola described her happiness and pride in seeing her hard work pay off, noting that she began her preparation at the start of the academic year. She participated in late-night study sessions and early morning revisions, demonstrating her commitment to her academic pursuits.
Viola dedicated her achievements to her late grandfather, Aisake Ravutubananitu, along with her grandmother and parents. She shared the heartfelt impact of her grandfather’s passing, saying, “When my grandpa passed away, I felt like I lost a part of me because he always supported me.” Her faith has been a constant source of strength as she navigated her challenges, and she continues to honor his memory.
In addition to her grandfather, Viola acknowledged her grandmother, Ro Vani Ravutubananitu, for her steadfast support, as well as her class teacher, Nazeel Ali, and the head teacher and staff at her school.
With aspirations to enroll in Adi Cakobau School (ACS) next year, Viola is eager to embrace the opportunities the school offers for nurturing strong and independent women. “I am interested in attending ACS because it breeds strong and independent women,” she said.
Viola’s determination and resilience not only make her a role model for her peers but also a source of pride for her family and school community.
