His remarkable performance in the Vodafone Deans competition, where he played a key role in helping Queen Victoria School secure the under-18 title, caught the attention of the Drua selectors.

Demonstrating versatility, Nauvasi has played multiple positions, including flyhalf, wing, and fullback during his tenure at Queen Victoria School, showcasing his adaptability and skill.
In expressing his excitement about joining the Drua Development program, Nauvasi shared his eagerness to be part of the team and gratitude for the opportunity. Ifereimi Rawaqa, the Fijian Drua development and skills coach, praised him for his natural talent, discipline, and impressive performances, indicating confidence in his potential success at the professional level.
“I’m delighted to welcome Maleli Nauvasi to our Drua development program. He has shown exceptional promise, not only with his natural talent but also with his discipline on the field,” Rawaqa commented. “Nauvasi has proven himself as a standout performer in the Deans and also in the Fiji Schoolboys U18, and we are excited to support his continued growth and journey in rugby.”

Nauvasi’s choice to remain with Drua emphasizes his dedication to the club and his ambition to advance from the U18 level to the Flying Fijians.
