Eighteen-year-old Ciara Radini Nayau Gabriella Ganilau Lee is a remarkable individual who blends creativity, intelligence, and a rich cultural background in all her endeavors. As the youngest contestant in this year’s Hibiscus Festival, she stands out for both her beauty and her impressive skills, alongside a genuine dedication to social causes.
Crowned as Miss Moutai, Ciara’s journey is truly inspiring. Raised by her mother, Adi Koila Ganilau, in an environment that prioritized education, she began learning about entrepreneurship at the age of ten. The family established a clothing business, instilling in Ciara the values of resilience and innovation—principles that continue to guide her today.
Her artistic talent is equally noteworthy. She commenced her training at the Conservatorium of Music under Master Lai Veikoso, which ignited her passion for the arts. By the age of 13, she was performing with the Mata Dance Company, later transitioning to the Moana Loa Dance Company, and ultimately joining the Oceania Dance Theatre at the University of the South Pacific. Under the guidance of esteemed choreographer Glenville Lord, Ciara has excelled in dance, theatre, and modeling, swiftly becoming a promising star.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Ciara is deeply involved in social issues. At 14, she began her work with Haus of Koila and the Society of Sustainable Entrepreneurs (SOSE), marking the start of her advocacy. One of her most meaningful experiences was spending three weeks at Wainiyavi Primary School in Namosi, where she provided essential school supplies and engaged with the local community. This experience strengthened her commitment to service.
Ciara advocates for pressing global issues such as climate change and human trafficking, leveraging her dance and social media platforms to raise awareness. Recognized as one of Fiji’s influencers for the Regional Pacific NDC Hub’s #SwipeUp4Change initiative, she empowers young advocates for climate action across the region. Her impactful performance as Mili in the Butakoci Production highlighted the stark realities of human trafficking and demonstrated her devotion to important causes.
Recently, Ciara received an invitation to Kokomo Island Resort in Kadavu, where she excelled in her trial as a Teens Attendant. Her personalized approach to activities like hiking, turtle spotting, and night snorkeling showcased her adventurous spirit and knack for hospitality.
Supported by her sponsor, Kweichow Moutai, a prominent Chinese liquor producer known for its premium offerings, Ciara is on a journey as she competes for the title of Miss Hibiscus 2024. She embodies creativity, commitment, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
The Miss Hibiscus 2024 Festival is scheduled to take place from August 31st to September 7th at the Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre, promising to be an unforgettable event, with FMF and Vodafone serving as Gold sponsors.
