Rewa’s Thunderous Start: Can They Keep the Momentum Against Nadi?

The Extra Supermarket Rewa team, under the guidance of coach Rodeck Singh, is gearing up for a crucial match against Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi in their second pool game of the Super Premier division at Churchill Park in Lautoka today. This follows an impressive 7-0 victory over Nadroga in their opening match at the same location yesterday.

John Orobulu, known for his agility, delivered an outstanding performance, netting five goals during the match. His skillful display raised the bar for the standard of play in the tournament. Orobulu scored his goals in the 21st, 25th, 62nd, 77th minutes, and in injury time. Additionally, Asivorosi Rabo and Epeli Valevou contributed goals in the 30th and 31st minutes, respectively.

Coach Rodeck Singh expressed satisfaction with how the team began the match. “This is one of the starts we wanted. We know that IDC is a major tournament, and starting well is crucial for us. I’m grateful to the boys for this performance, and I believe we have established a strong foundation for ourselves,” he stated.

Looking ahead, Singh emphasized the importance of focusing on their next challenge. “We take one game at a time, and now we are concentrating on how to approach Nadi. Securing three points from this match is extremely important for us.”

Rewa’s match against Nadi is set to kick off at 6 PM today.
