Rewa U16 Girls Shine with 2-0 Victory Over Suva!

The Rewa under-16 girls football team achieved a 2-0 victory over Suva in the latest round of the Digicel Fiji Girls under-16 league at the Fiji Football Academy grounds yesterday.

The team showcased strong performances throughout the match, preventing the capital city’s team from scoring. Rewa’s team manager, Marama Matila, expressed her excitement after the game, reflecting on the team’s improvements that led to this win. “We’re happy that we came up with a good team and we beat them soundly,” Matila stated. “We’re proud of our girls today; they are showing better performance compared to last time.”

Matila pointed out that this victory followed a previous loss to Suva, where they had been defeated 0-1. She credited their improved gameplay as a key factor in their success. “We just told our defenders to understand the game and avoid unnecessary dribbling. If the ball comes back, they need to clear it rather than dribbling in the area,” she explained.

Currently, the team has no specific plans for the future, as they await further updates from the Fiji Football Association regarding upcoming matches. Matila acknowledged the unwavering support from families, parents, guardians, and well-wishers who were present during the game yesterday, which contributed to their performance.
