Rewa U16 Girls Claim Victory with Stunning 2-0 Win!

The Rewa under-16 girls football team secured a 2-0 victory against Suva in the weekly Digicel Fiji Girls under-16 league competition held at the Fiji Football Academy grounds yesterday.

The U16 team showed strong performances throughout the match, preventing the capital city team from scoring. Team manager Marama Matila expressed her joy over the team’s progress and win.

“We’re happy that we came up with a good team and we beat them convincingly,” Matila stated. “We’re proud of our girls today; they performed better than the last time.”

Matila referred to their previous 0-1 loss to Suva and highlighted how their improved playing style contributed to their success in this match.

“We instructed our defenders to read the game properly; when the ball comes, they need to clear it instead of dribbling around,” she explained.

While the team currently does not have specific plans moving forward, Matila mentioned they are waiting for updates from the Fiji Football Association about future developments.

She also acknowledged the consistent support from families, parents, guardians, and well-wishers who came out to cheer for the team during the game.
