Rewa U16 Girls Claim Victory in Thrilling 2-0 Match!

The Rewa under-16 girls football team achieved a 2-0 victory over Suva in the latest round of the Digicel Fiji Girls under-16 league, held at the Fiji Football Academy grounds yesterday.

Throughout the match, the Rewa team showcased commendable performance, preventing the Suva side from scoring any goals. Team manager Marama Matila expressed her joy during an interview, highlighting the development of the team and their recent success.

“We’re happy that we came up with a good team and we beat them with tuning,” Matila remarked. “We’re proud of our girls today; at least they are doing something better than the last time.” She referred to the previous encounter where Rewa lost 0-1 to Suva, indicating that the team’s improved form was key to their victory this time.

Matila emphasized the importance of game understanding among the defenders, advising them to avoid unnecessary dribbling and to clear the ball effectively when it comes back to them.

Currently, the team does not have specific plans for the future but is awaiting updates from the Fiji Football Association regarding upcoming events. Matila also acknowledged the consistent support from families, parents, guardians, and well-wishers who attended the match to cheer for the team.
