Dave McMeekin and Julie Hornsey from the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme led a two-day Mobile Journalism training for the Fiji Television Limited Operations and News, Current Affairs, and Sports Team from July 15 to 16.

During the training, PACMAS provided two Mobile Journalism kits, each valued at AUD$5,500, which included an iPhone 15 Pro Max, microphones, and additional equipment.

The sessions focused on the fundamentals of managing and maintaining the MOJO device, capturing audio and video, employing creative camera angles, and improving visuals with background lines and images.

Following the training, the Fiji TV News team began utilizing the MOJO kits right away.

The introduction of these kits has had a positive influence on Fiji TV’s newsroom, as it has minimized the reliance on heavy equipment and encouraged more creative approaches to event coverage.
