Revolutionizing Healthcare: The Push for a New State-of-the-Art Hospital

Independent Opposition Member of Parliament Ketan Lal is urging the Government to prioritize the construction of a new, state-of-the-art Colonial War Memorial Hospital facility, citing the outdated and costly nature of the current infrastructure.

Lal emphasized that instead of continuing to invest resources in maintaining an aging structure, the Government should focus on building a new hospital designed to meet modern healthcare demands.

“From a construction and engineering perspective, continuing to maintain the old CWM facility is not only financially burdensome but also inefficient,” he stated.

Lal proposed a phased construction approach for the new hospital, which he believes would be more cost-effective in the long term and allow the integration of advanced medical technologies and modern design principles.

“We propose a strategic, phased construction plan, where each phase focuses on a different section of the hospital,” he said.

“This approach will ensure that the project remains manageable and financially sustainable. By planning meticulously, we can maintain healthcare services with minimal disruption while progressing towards our goal of a new facility.”

He stressed that this initiative goes beyond political boundaries and calls for collaborative efforts. “The current government has a unique opportunity to take a visionary step by launching the construction of a new hospital.”

Lal also suggested that the existing facilities could be repurposed for administrative or research purposes, ensuring no part of the infrastructure goes to waste.

A new CWM Hospital, Lal concluded, would not only enhance the healthcare system but also symbolize the nation’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens and demonstrate the ability to innovate and adapt, ensuring access to world-class medical care for future generations.
