Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) has unveiled an array of supportive payment options designed to aid patients who are experiencing financial difficulties, regardless of the complexity and cost of their required treatments or surgeries.
The founder and CEO, Parvish Kumar, emphasized that the primary goal of PSH is to save lives, placing financial concerns as a secondary priority. He noted that while the organization already offers highly competitive rates—such as $11.50 for 24/7 general practitioner consultations—they intend to implement more accessible payment plans for higher-cost treatments, varying according to the nature and extent of the medical needs.
Kumar highlighted that no other private hospitals in Fiji or the Pacific region have introduced such patient-friendly incentives. He expressed concern that many lives are lost due to financial barriers preventing patients from receiving timely medical assistance.
“Our ultimate goal is to eventually provide complex treatments and open-heart surgeries at no cost to eligible patients, not only in Fiji but across all Pacific Island nations,” Kumar stated.
In addition, he shared plans for the establishment of the PSH Foundation, which will involve influential community members from various Pacific Island countries. This initiative aims to broaden their services to the larger Pacific community, while positioning the hospital as a leader in the region’s healthcare sector.
With ambitious plans for 2025, Kumar indicated PSH is looking to form strategic partnerships with stakeholders and government agencies to enhance access to specialist healthcare for individuals at the grassroots level.
This initiative by PSH serves as a beacon of hope for many patients in the Pacific Islands, potentially transforming healthcare access and emphasizing the importance of supportive financial structures in the medical services sector. The commitment to making life-saving treatments more accessible is indeed a progressive step towards a healthier future for the Pacific community.
