Revolutionizing E-Ticketing: A Consumer-Friendly Upgrade

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has praised the government’s recent decision to revamp the e-ticketing system, aiming for a more consumer-friendly approach.

The upcoming upgrade will introduce a new e-ticketing system designed to improve operational efficiency and enhance the user experience for all Fijians.

One key feature of the upgrade is the inclusion of additional payment methods beyond the current bus cards.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica, has stated that the new e-ticketing system represents a significant milestone in making public transportation in Fiji more convenient and efficient.

He emphasized that the upgrade will simplify the commuting process while ensuring the transportation infrastructure keeps up with technological advancements.

FCCC CEO Joel Abraham remarked that introducing diverse payment options is excellent news for consumers, leading to a more reliable and user-friendly platform for their transportation needs.

He added that the FCCC is closely monitoring the rollout of the new e-ticketing system to ensure it adheres to the required consumer protection and service quality standards.

The new e-ticketing system is expected to become operational in the coming months, with thorough testing and stakeholder consultations occurring before its full implementation.
