The revitalization of the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) complex, known as Vale ni Bose, is progressing well. The iTaukei Trust Fund Board announced that the first phase of construction has been finished, and work has now commenced on the second phase.

The board indicated that the project is on track for practical completion by mid-2025, with meticulous planning to ensure compliance with established timelines while upholding standards of quality and safety. The project team’s dedication to efficiently executing Phase 2 will help achieve each milestone as planned.

Coordination among contractors, architects, and stakeholders has been exceptional, featuring consistent updates and progress assessments to maintain the project’s momentum. The original GCC complex was destroyed in a fire in 2020 and has since benefited from a $6 million insurance payout for its reconstruction.

Phase two will improve the facility’s functionality and aesthetic, aligning with its intended purpose. The board expressed confidence that the project’s timely completion will greatly enhance the offerings of the space, benefiting both the Great Council of Chiefs and future users.

Pacific Building Solutions has been selected to oversee the construction efforts.
