The reconstruction of the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) Vale ni Bose complex is making significant progress. According to a statement from the iTaukei Trust Fund Board, the first phase of the project has been completed, and work on the second phase is now underway.
The TTFB announced that the project is on track for practical completion by mid-2025. They emphasized that all construction activities have been meticulously planned to adhere to timelines while upholding high standards of quality and safety.
The project team is dedicated to executing Phase 2 efficiently, achieving each milestone as scheduled. Coordination among contractors, architects, and stakeholders has been smooth, with regular updates and progress checks ensuring the project remains on schedule.
The previous GCC complex was destroyed by a fire in 2020, and the reconstruction has received a $6 million insurance payout. Phase two aims to improve the facility’s functionality and design, ensuring it meets its intended purpose. The TTFB expressed confidence that the timely completion of this project will enhance the venue’s value for the Great Council of Chiefs and its future users.
