“Revitalizing Faith: A Call for Change in the Methodist Church of Fiji”

Reverend Dr Semisi Turagavou, President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, has urged the Church to evolve from its conservative practices during the opening of the Church Conference, known as the ‘Bose Ko Viti’. He emphasized the need for a shift in mindsets and attitudes as the Church follows the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Turagavou warned that if members are unwilling to embrace change, God may choose others to advance His Church. “He does not need our consent and will accomplish it with those who partner with Christ to restore Christ’s true image in the Church,” he stated.

He encouraged attendees to step out of their comfort zones and take active roles in missions. The Church, he argued, should embody a relational approach that reflects its belief in a God of relationships. Turagavou concluded by reminding everyone that God is calling the Church to broaden its horizons and embrace a more inclusive and relational stance as they are united through the sacrifice of Jesus.
