The Fijian Government has assigned the iTaukei Affairs Ministry the task of reviewing the iTaukei Administration to enhance its efficiency and improve the economic and social wellbeing of the iTaukei people in Fiji.

Ifereimi Vasu, the Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts, received reports on this review along with recommendations for establishing Provincial Economic Units from consultancy teams led by Dr. Jone Baledrokadroka and Dr. Jone Lako.

These reports are the result of four months of nationwide consultations that included engagement with government and non-government organizations, businesses, civil society, academic institutions, and provincial councils.

Vasu expressed his appreciation to the review teams for their thorough work and assured that the recommendations would be submitted to the Great Council of Chiefs, the iTaukei Affairs Board, and Cabinet for further consideration.
