Revamped Revelations: Methodist Church President’s Bold Challenge

Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou, President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, has urged the Church to avoid stagnation due to its conservative approach. During the opening of the Methodist Church Conference, known as ‘Bose Ko Viti’, he emphasized the need for a transformation in mindsets and attitudes as the Church is guided by the Holy Spirit.

He warned that if the Church is not prepared to embrace change, God may choose others to advance His Church without needing permission. He encouraged congregants to embrace their roles in missions and to step outside their comfort zones.

Rev. Turagavou stated that the Church should embody the concept of being relational, reflecting the nature of a God who fosters relationships. He called for the Church to break its boundaries and become more inclusive, highlighting the significance of being spiritually united through the sacrifice of Jesus.
