Reunion Sparks Excitement as Rising Rugby Star Takes the Field

Litiana Naqatalevu left Beqa Island early yesterday to join the Fiji Bulikula (national women’s) rugby league team for their morning run at Albert Park in Suva. Spending $100 on travel was worthwhile for her, as it allowed her to reunite with her niece, Losana Lutu, after 12 years apart.

Naqatalevu expressed her pride, stating, “Losana’s dad is my brother. When Losana was growing up, I always knew she would excel in sports because she was talented.” Losana Lutu, now 20, has become a promising player in the National Rugby League Women (NRLW) in Australia and is considered one of the key players to watch in the Bulikula squad for their upcoming match against the Cook Islands at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Saturday.

In anticipation of the game, Naqatalevu mentioned, “Back in our village in Naceva, we’re preparing our banners for this Saturday’s game. We’re all coming to the stadium to support Losana and the girls as they face the Cook Islands.”
