Rowena Acraman has demonstrated remarkable resilience after the loss of her grandmother earlier this year, channeling her strength into her aspirations. A former radio journalist with a passion for human rights and climate change, she is one of the nine contestants vying for the title in the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024.
Supported by Miss APCO Coatings, Acraman has faced significant challenges during her three years of study. She credits her friends for helping her navigate through various obstacles. “Pursuing both journalism and psychology was no easy feat for me personally,” she shared. The difficulties she faced at home, she believes, are a testament to her resilience. “Hard work and sleepless nights have truly paid off,” she added.
This week has proven to be an extraordinary experience for Acraman as she participates in the festival, describing it as a magical journey filled with mixed emotions. Beyond her academic pursuits, she is also a talented artist, singer, and musician, proficient in playing the guitar and ukulele.
Acraman has aspirations to work for a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and climate change. She acknowledged that balancing work and studies was tough, yet she successfully maintained a steady income while pursuing her degree.
