Rowena Acraman, who faced the loss of her grandmother earlier this year, has managed to find the strength to remain focused on her aspirations. The former radio journalist, with a strong interest in human rights and climate change, is among the nine contestants vying for the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024 title.

Sponsored by Miss APCO Coatings, Ms. Acraman shared that her three years of study have been filled with challenges, but the support from her friends has helped her overcome many hurdles. “Pursuing both journalism and psychology was no easy feat for me personally,” she remarked, adding that her experiences at home have highlighted her resilience. “Hard work and sleepless nights have truly paid off.”

This week has been a remarkable journey for Ms. Acraman as she engages in the festival and competes for the crown, describing the experience as nothing short of magical.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Ms. Acraman is also a passionate artist, singer, and musician, proficient in both the guitar and ukulele. She aims to work with a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and climate change. Although balancing work and academic responsibilities proved challenging, she successfully maintained a steady income while completing her degree.
