Rowena Acraman, despite the loss of her grandmother earlier this year, has demonstrated remarkable resilience as she pursues her goals. A former radio journalist with ambitions in human rights and climate change, Acraman is among the nine contestants vying for the title in the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024.

Supported by Miss APCO Coatings, Acraman has faced numerous challenges during her three years of study but credits her friends for helping her overcome these obstacles. “Pursuing both journalism and psychology was no easy feat for me personally,” she remarked, reflecting on her journey. She emphasized that enduring family struggles has been a testament to her resilience and that her dedication, including hard work and sleepless nights, has paid off.

Acraman has described her experiences at the festival as magical, navigating the competition with a mix of emotions. Alongside her academic pursuits, she is passionate about the arts, excelling as a singer and musician, and is proficient in playing both the guitar and ukulele. Her goal is to work with a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and climate change. While balancing work and studies proved to be challenging, she successfully maintained a stable income while completing her degree.
