Rowena Acraman has demonstrated remarkable resilience and focus on her goals, despite the loss of her grandmother earlier this year. The former radio journalist, who aims to make a significant impact in the fields of human rights and climate change, is one of nine contestants vying for the title of Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024.
Supported by Miss APCO Coatings, Acraman has successfully navigated the challenges of her three years of study with the help of her friends. She expressed the difficulty of balancing her dual pursuits of journalism and psychology, emphasizing the importance of perseverance. “Enduring the struggles at home was a testament to my resilience,” she stated, acknowledging the hard work and sleepless nights that have led to her current achievements.
This week has been particularly momentous for Acraman as she actively participates in the festival and competes for the crown. She admits to experiencing a whirlwind of emotions but describes the event as nothing short of magical.
In addition to her academic prowess, Acraman is an enthusiastic artist, singer, and musician, proficient in both guitar and ukulele. She has aspirations to work with a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and climate change. Although balancing work and study presented challenges, she has managed to sustain a stable income while pursuing her degree.
