Tributes have been paid to Chaganlal Kanji (CK) Nandha, who was instrumental in representing cane growers in the formulation of the profit-sharing framework established by the Denning Award in 1969. Mr. Nandha, originally from Nadi, passed away on January 1, 2025, in Australia.
An accountant by training, he also held the position of auditor for several key organizations, including the National Federation Party (NFP), the Cane Growers Federation, and the Fiji Cane Growers Association. His high standards of good governance set a strong foundation for the internal administration and development of these organizations, as highlighted by NFP leader, Professor Biman Prasad.
Professor Prasad remarked, “The NFP has lost a staunch stalwart and professional who served alongside notable figures such as the late Hon. AD Patel, Swami Rudrananda, and Hon. HM Lodhia.” Nandha dedicated over two decades to serving the cane growers of Fiji with integrity and unwavering commitment.
The impact of Mr. Nandha’s contributions continues to be felt, and his legacy serves as an inspiration for current and future leaders in the agricultural sector.
This article not only honors the life and contributions of Chaganlal Kanji Nandha but also emphasizes the importance of good governance and integrity in agricultural advocacy. His commitment to the cane growers of Fiji stands as a testament to the positive changes that dedicated individuals can bring to their communities.
