Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka attended the Davuilevu Crematorium yesterday to pay his respects to the late Diwan Chand Maharaj, a significant figure in Fiji’s business and community life. Diwan was the founder of Quality Print PTE Limited, one of the nation’s largest printing companies.
In his tribute, Rabuka highlighted Diwan’s commitment to love and friendship, core values he instilled in both his family and the wider community. The Prime Minister acknowledged Diwan’s charitable legacy, which reflects compassion and generosity. In addition to founding Quality Print, Diwan co-founded Sun Insurance PTE Limited in 1999 and played an instrumental role in establishing the Kidney Foundation of Fiji.
Diwan was also heavily involved in various charitable organizations, having served in the Rotary Club since 1990, and previously held the position of national president of the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji. Rabuka reminisced about attending the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., alongside Diwan, illustrating the late entrepreneur’s commitment to both his family and community service.
As he concluded his remarks, Rabuka expressed his heartfelt farewell, stating, “Moce to’a mada Diwan, may your soul rest in peace.”
