Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka attended the memorial service for the late Diwan Chand Maharaj at the Davuilevu Crematorium yesterday, surrounded by family and friends. Diwan Chand was the founder of Quality Print PTE Limited, one of Fiji’s largest printing companies.
In his tribute, Rabuka highlighted the values of love and friendship that Diwan emphasized throughout his life, which he instilled in his children and the wider community. This legacy of compassion and charitable deeds has left a profound impact in Fiji.
Rabuka recalled that Diwan co-founded Sun Insurance PTE Limited in 1999 and significantly contributed to the establishment of the Kidney Foundation of Fiji. In addition to his business endeavors, Diwan was an active community participant, being involved with various charitable organizations, serving in the Rotary Club since 1990, and having held the position of national president of the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji.
Rabuka noted Diwan’s participation in significant events, such as the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, which he also attended. Describing Diwan as a devoted family man, a loving grandfather, and an inspiring mentor, he concluded his tribute with a heartfelt farewell.
“Moce to’a mada Diwan, may your soul rest in peace,” Rabuka expressed.
