The safety of citizens during the upcoming festive and cyclone seasons relies heavily on the readiness and responsiveness of law enforcement agencies. This was highlighted by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joape Cakacaka, the newly appointed Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, during an operational readiness check parade he held on Thursday morning in Nausori.

This event marked SSP Cakacaka’s first parade since his appointment, and it was attended by officers serving in various areas within the Eastern Division, which includes Nakasi, Nausori, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Rewa, and the Lomaiviti group. In his address, he emphasized the importance of professionalism and maintaining a high standard of discipline within the police force.

“Remember, we are the guardians of peace and safety, and it is imperative that we uphold the values of integrity, respect, humility, and professionalism in all our actions,” SSP Cakacaka stressed. He acknowledged that while the festive season brings joy and celebration to the community, it also poses unique challenges that demand an unwavering commitment to duty and excellence.

SSP Cakacaka reminded officers that their actions reflect not only on themselves but on the entire Fiji Police Force, highlighting the community’s watchful eye on their conduct. Additionally, the operational checks included assessments of both land and maritime resources to ensure preparedness for any eventualities.

As the community prepares for the festivities ahead, the emphasis on a dedicated police force underlines the commitment to public safety, paving the way for a secure and joyful season.

In summary, the proactive approach taken by SSP Cakacaka and his call for professionalism among officers set a hopeful tone for the upcoming challenges. This readiness ensures that the community can look forward to safer celebrations, emphasizing a strong partnership between law enforcement and the public.
