President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has been recognized for his integrity and patience in fulfilling his role as Head of State. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka expressed his appreciation for Ratu Wiliame’s exceptional leadership in a recent tribute. He highlighted the effective and smooth transition of governance that took place following the 2022 General Elections, attributing this to Ratu Wiliame’s steady hand at the presidency.
Rabuka emphasized Ratu Wiliame’s commitment to upholding the Constitution of the Republic of Fiji, noting that he remained resolute even in the face of challenges to his authority. He remarked, “His term in office has been marked by unprecedented freedom for the people of Fiji and he has symbolized the unity and integrity of the State at home and abroad.” Throughout his presidency, Ratu Wiliame opened State House to all Fijians and executed significant diplomatic missions with elegance and grace.
The Prime Minister announced that a formal vakasenuqanuqa ceremony will be held at the end of Ratu Wiliame’s term to honor him in accordance with traditional protocol.
