The under-18 players of Ratu Navula College experienced a significant boost in confidence on Saturday as a large crowd of parents, predominantly dressed in blue, gathered at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva to support them during their quarter-final match against Mahatma Gandhi in the Vodafone Super Deans tournament.

Taniela Vocevoce, the president of the parents association, noted the impressive turnout, saying that supporters from various regions came out in full force to back the team. “We had been looking forward to today’s match and have been preparing for a long time,” he mentioned. Vocevoce expressed pride in the representation from every village in Nadi, as well as families from the fourteen provinces residing there.

Some parents even traveled from as far as Taveuni to cheer for their sons. “We are incredibly grateful to our parents who made the journey from other parts of Fiji, as well as our alumni,” he added. Vocevoce conveyed that the team entered the match with a strong belief in their potential to secure victory in the national quarter-finals.

Looking ahead, he anticipated an even larger crowd for the semi-finals next week. “We are eagerly awaiting next week’s game and are confident that good things are in store for us,” he said. Vocevoce emphasized the team’s previous triumphs in the Dean’s Cup and reaffirmed their commitment to reclaiming that title. He also expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders of the Vanua of Nadi for their ongoing support and blessings.
