Ratu Navula College is serious about securing the Vodafone Deans Trophy. This determination was expressed by the Under-18 team manager, Mitieli Qumi, following their quarterfinal victory over Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School with a score of 16-10.

In comments made to SUNsports, Qumi emphasized the team’s ambition to restore the dominance of Western teams in the national finals. “MGM were favorites to win this year,” he acknowledged, reflecting on their respect for the opposing team.

As the game came to a close, RNC’s defense proved formidable, successfully holding off MGM’s advances. Despite their progress to the semifinals, Qumi noted that there is still potential for improvement within the team. “There were mistakes, but we will regroup and come back a better team,” he stated.

RNC’s next challenge is against the reigning Deans Trophy champions, Queen Victoria School, in the semifinals. “We are here for business and we are here to play. Our biggest strength is the spiritual support from our families and the school,” Qumi concluded.
