The Ratu Navula College under-18 team experienced a significant boost in morale on Saturday, as parents from the West filled the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, creating a vibrant atmosphere of support.

Taniela Vocevoce, the president of the parents’ association, shared that the turnout was impressive as families came out to cheer for the team in their quarter-final match against Mahatma Gandhi in the Vodafone Super Deans tournament.

“We looked forward to today’s match and our preparations have been extensive,” Vocevoce remarked. “I believe every village in Nadi is represented here, as well as residents from the 14 provinces living in Nadi.” He noted that some parents even traveled from Taveuni to watch their sons compete.

Vocevoce expressed gratitude for the support from parents and alumni, stating, “We came in today with confidence that we would leave victorious in the national quarter-finals.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming semi-finals, he anticipated an even larger showing from supporters. “We are excited for next week’s game and are optimistic about our chances,” he added. “The Dean’s Cup is familiar territory for us; we have won it before and are committed to reclaiming that championship.”

He also acknowledged the backing and blessings received from the traditional leaders of Nadi.
