The Ratu Navula College under-18 team received a significant boost on Saturday as a large crowd of supporters, dressed in blue, gathered at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Parents traveled from the West to cheer them on as they faced Mahatma Gandhi in the quarter-finals of the Vodafone Super Deans.

Taniela Vocevoce, the president of the parents association, expressed appreciation for the turnout, noting that the community had long anticipated this match. “We believe every village in Nadi is represented here today to support the boys, as well as those from the 14 provinces residing in Nadi,” Vocevoce remarked. Some parents even journeyed from Taveuni to watch their sons compete.

He emphasized gratitude towards the parents who traveled from various parts of Fiji and the school’s alumni. “We came in today with confidence that we will leave victorious in the national quarter-finals,” he stated.

Looking ahead, Vocevoce predicted an even larger crowd for next week’s semi-finals. “We are excited for next week’s game and are confident that something good is in store for us,” he added. He also highlighted the school’s past success in the Dean’s Cup, stating they aim to reclaim that glory.

Vocevoce also recognized the essential support and blessings from the traditional pillars of the Vanua of Nadi.
