Ratu Navula College is serious about claiming the Vodafone Deans Trophy this season. This determination was emphasized by the Under-18 team manager, Mitieli Qumi, following their quarterfinal victory against Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School with a score of 16-10.

In an interview, Qumi shared that their aim is to restore the dominance of Western teams in the national finals. He noted that MGM were considered favorites for the tournament and admired their performance since RNC had looked up to them during their time in Suva.

The RNC team showed strong defensive skills in the closing minutes of the match, successfully keeping MGM from scoring. Qumi acknowledged that despite reaching the semifinal, there are areas that need improvement. “There were mistakes, but we will regroup and come back a better team,” he stated.

Ratu Navula College is set to face the defending champions, Queen Victoria School, in the semifinal. Qumi expressed confidence in their mission, saying, “We are here for business and we are here to play. Our biggest strength is the spiritual support from our families and the school.”
