Ratu Navula College Gears Up for Deans Trophy Showdown!

Ratu Navula College is determined to succeed in the Vodafone Deans Trophy. This commitment was highlighted by the Under-18 team manager, Mitieli Qumi, following their hard-fought 16-10 victory over Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School in the quarterfinals.

In an interview, Qumi expressed the team’s objective to restore the Western teams’ dominance in the national finals. He acknowledged that MGM was considered the favorite this year and praised their strong reputation heading into the match.

The RNC players showcased tenacity in defense during the closing minutes of the game, successfully keeping MGM from scoring. Although they have moved on to the semifinal, Qumi noted there is still potential for development.

“There were mistakes, but we will regroup and come back a better team,” he stated.

Ratu Navula College will now face the reigning Deans Trophy champions, Queen Victoria School, in the semifinal. Qumi emphasized their focus, stating, “We are here for business and we are here to play. Our biggest strength is the spiritual support from our families and the school.”
