Ratu Navula College is focused on securing victory in the Vodafone Deans Trophy, as indicated by the Under-18 team manager Mitieli Qumi following their quarterfinal win against Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School with a score of 16-10.
In an interview, Qumi expressed the team’s commitment to restoring the supremacy of Western teams in the national finals. He acknowledged that MGM was considered a favorite this year and praised their strong performance leading into the match.
During the final moments of the game, RNC’s defense proved to be crucial, successfully keeping MGM from scoring. Despite advancing to the semifinals, Qumi noted that the team still has areas to improve upon.
“There were mistakes but we will regroup and come back a better team,” he stated. RNC is set to face the defending Deans Trophy champions, Queen Victoria School, in the semifinals.
Qumi emphasized their seriousness in the competition, stating, “We are here for business and we are here to play. Our biggest strength is the spiritual support from our families and the school.”
