Ratu Kadavulevu School: Undefeated Champions Eyeing Future Glory!

Ratu Kadavulevu School continued their impressive streak last Saturday by clinching the Vodafone Deans Trophy in the Under-17 category. The team has remained undefeated since the Under-14 level.

In an interview with SUNsports, head coach Usaia Naqicitabua expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for the upcoming year, as they aim to restore their former glory at Delainakaikai. “During halftime, I advised the boys to tighten up on defense since this was the final match,” Naqicitabua explained. “We cannot afford to make careless mistakes at such critical moments.”

He highlighted the team’s thorough preparation and composure, particularly in the final ten minutes of the match, which played a crucial role in their victory.

Naqicitabua attributed the team’s success to the unity and camaraderie among the players, noting that although about 12 original members of the team have moved on, the remaining athletes have upheld the legacy.

Regarding future ambitions, Naqicitabua stated, “I believe it has been a long time since the school has worked to reclaim the Under-18 title. It will be a tough challenge, but we will prepare thoroughly and strive to bring back the glory.”
