Ratu Kadavulevu School narrowly defeated Marist Brothers High School in a thrilling Vodafone Super Deans U17 final, winning 35-34 at HFC Bank Stadium this afternoon.
The match was intensely contested from the beginning, with both teams exchanging tries throughout the game. Tevita Rokosuka from RKS was instrumental, scoring two of the twelve tries tallied by both teams.
RKS took a slim lead at halftime, holding a score of 21-17. The second half maintained the high level of competition, with Lemeki Ratuvukivuki extending RKS’s lead with an additional try. However, Marist quickly countered as Saverio Tavakai scored, bringing the score to 28-22 in favor of RKS.
Sairusi Rokotuva contributed two more tries for RKS, while Semi Vuakilau managed to score for Marist, resulting in a final score of 35-34. RKS managed to hold off Marist in a nail-biting finish to secure their victory.
