The Tui Nadogo, Ratu Ilisaniti Malodali, has urged villages in the Nadogo region of Macuata to limit kava consumption. His appeal aims to encourage parents to dedicatedly engage with their children. Ratu Ilisaniti emphasized the importance of fathers being present at home to ensure proper supervision of their kids.

He stated, “A father figure is essential in a household. It provides children with the discipline that is crucial, and wrongdoings will not be accepted.” Ratu Ilisaniti highlighted the need for parents to instill respectable behavior and community conduct in their children, drawing upon religious teachings.

The Tui Nadogo expressed concern that many youth today are becoming engrossed in technology and criminal activities, which pose a threat to the village’s values of unity, peace, and growth. He noted that the next decade would be pivotal in determining whether young people would stay on the path to success and fulfill national responsibilities.

He further stressed the importance of self-education and securing stable employment to avoid being influenced by those who lure them into drug trafficking. Previously, he has issued warnings against the cultivation of marijuana within the village.

“Do not engage in planting illegal drugs. Instead, focus on alternative farming to enhance your income,” he advised. With local police advocating for stronger community-police collaboration, Ratu Ilisaniti calls for enhanced family efforts to involve children in religious and traditional activities.
