The Lautoka sugar mill has concluded its 2024 crushing season today, while the Sugar Industry Tribunal has announced that crushing at the Rarawai Mill in Ba will cease on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Tribunal member Semi Leweniqila issued this order following discussions with the Chief Executive Officer of the Sugar Cane Growers Council and the Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Sugar Corporation. The Tribunal urged all growers and harvesting teams associated with Rarawai Mill to make every effort to harvest and deliver all sugarcane by Monday, October 14, 2024.
