The Lautoka sugar mill has concluded its crushing activities for the 2024 season, while the Sugar Industry Tribunal has instructed that crushing operations at Rarawai Mill in Ba will cease on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Tribunal member Semi Leweniqila issued the directive following discussions with the Chief Executive Officer of the Sugar Cane Growers Council and the Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Sugar Corporation.
The Tribunal has urged all growers and harvesting teams associated with Rarawai Mill to prioritize the harvesting of all cane and ensure it is delivered to the mill by Monday, October 14, 2024.
