Raising the Bar: School’s Ambitious Sports Goals

Around 900 students participated in Marist Brothers Primary School’s interhouse event yesterday.

The school held its interhouse at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, aiming to identify athletes for their squad for next term’s Suva Zone and eventually the Chow Games.

MBPS Sports Coordinator Vitori Rasaqa said they had requested a bye week from their sports commitments, such as Suva Kaji, to conduct their interhouse.

“We are holding our interhouse this week to give us ample time to prepare for the Chow Games next term. This will allow us to thoroughly select and train our squad for the Suva Zone 1 and eventually the Chow Games,” he said.

Last year, the school had 70 athletes in the combined Suva Zone 1 team, where they won the boys’ division.

“This year, we aim to have as many athletes as possible in the Suva team. We just have to train them well and get them ready,” Rasaqa added.
