Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Sakeo Raikaci has confirmed that he has applied for the position of Police Commissioner. He stated, “Yes, I applied for the post,” emphasizing that the decision will be made by the Constitutional Offices Commission, but he is prepared to assume the role.
Raikaci holds a Bachelor of Law Degree, a Professional Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Certificate in Criminal Law from the University of the South Pacific. His experience includes serving in various units, including the Uniform Branch and the Crime and Major Fraud Unit.
Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua has mentioned that Fiji’s next Police Commissioner will be selected from local candidates within the Fiji Police Force. The Constitutional Offices Commission is set to meet to determine the leadership of the police force following the closure of applications.
