The Constitutional Offices Commission (COC) has received twenty-nine applications for the position of Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force. COC chairman and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed this during a media interview in Tailevu.
Rabuka stated that the commission will be reviewing the applications, noting that the upcoming COC meeting will address these submissions once Leader of the Opposition Inia Seruiratu returns from Switzerland, where he is accompanied by Speaker of the House Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and Government whip Alitia Bainivalu.
Among those expressing interest in the role are senior police officers, including former Assistant Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu, current acting Commissioner Juki Fong Chew, and UN assistant secretary general Unaisi Vuniwaqa.
