Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is currently engaged in a two-day official visit aimed at enhancing relations with New Zealand and celebrating Fiji Day with the Fijian community in the country.
During his visit, Rabuka has met with Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, as well as Simon Watts, New Zealand’s Minister for Climate Change. He is accompanied by Dr. Lesi Korovavala, the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and his wife, Sulueti Rabuka.
As part of his itinerary, Rabuka is scheduled to meet with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to discuss important areas of collaboration, including regional security, economic relations, and climate change under the Fiji-New Zealand Duavata Partnership.
Additionally, Rabuka has accepted an invitation to officiate at the Fiji Day festivities taking place at Mangere Centre Park in Auckland. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica will act as Prime Minister.
Following his engagements in New Zealand, Rabuka will proceed to Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) next Wednesday.
